Kohi
A café where people and cats meet
Branding
Concept
Vision
Kohi is a fictional cat café brand inspired by Japan’s creative café culture and the playful, unpredictable nature of cats. The idea came after watching a funny cat video — a reminder of how cats can be clumsy, cute, and full of surprises. I wanted to create a brand that feels like home: a cozy place where visitors can relax, enjoy a drink, and share a warm, fun moment with cats.
Design Approach
The design is playful and lighthearted, just like cats themselves. The primary font looks like it was written with a thick marker — bold, a little clumsy, but full of character. It doesn’t try to be perfect; it focuses on being fun.
The colors are bright and cheerful, inspired by anime — strong pink, bright blue, dark grey, and white for contrast. The mix creates a friendly and positive mood that invites people in. The imagery focuses on what really matters: joyful moments between people and cats, showing cuddles, funny faces, and that spark of affection that makes each visit special.
Process
I used Midjourney to create images for a brand awareness campaign. The focus was not on the drinks, but on the true reason to visit: sharing love with the cats. The campaign visuals show people enjoying these connections — happy, relaxed, and fully in the moment. I refined these images in Photoshop and Illustrator to create a cute, approachable world that reflects the spirit of the café.
Result & Impact
Kohi invites people to come for more than just coffee — it’s about sharing a cuddle, giving and receiving love, and making small, precious memories. The branding and campaign aim to show the fun, sweet, and sometimes silly moments that cats bring into our lives. It’s not about perfection — it’s about those unique times that make you smile and feel at peace. In real life, Kohi would be a space where visitors can slow down, relax, and leave with a happy memory that no cup or plate could ever replace.
